Meet our Directors:
LaTisha Corley- Owner/Director
LaTisha realized after having two children of her own how important early childhood education was and how difficult finding a quality, loving, caring, academic driven childcare was. She previously worked in childcare centers and always had a love for children. With over 10 years of experience with working with children in childcare, elementary school, non-profit programs, churches and college level students, LaTisha knew that opening her own childcare center was her desire and goal, which allowed her to spend more time with her own children and provide them with classmates in a safe environment.
As an educator, and having a Master's degree in Education (Clark Atlanta University, University of Phoenix), LaTisha understands the importance of lifelong learning and knows that it starts during a child’s early years because they are sponges and soak up everything. At Prepping for Excellence Academy our goal is to create a safe, fun, happy learning environment that teaches lifelong learning habits of physical, social, emotional growth. We also want to let all parents and guardians know that you are such a major key in the success or our Academy and we appreciate you. Parent interaction and involvement in the childcare setting is a necessity at Prepping for Excellence Academy and we encourage it through activities, meetings, and etc.
Angela Grant- Owner/Assistant Director
Angela, a mother of two who was raised in a small town on the lower Eastern Shore of Maryland had a hard time finding a loving, caring, warm environment daycare that loved teaching and working with children. So, Angela decided to go and work at a daycare. It became her passion, Angela has worked with children for over twenty-five years. She has worked with children of different age groups, different cultures, as well as special needs.
She knew then that one day she would have her own daycare. Angela’s biggest reward is teaching children and watching them grow intellectually, physically, and emotionally. Also, being able to watch her students learn new things, meeting new friends with different backgrounds, and building new relationships while growing and playing together. Angela has also helped in her community as a camp director, Sunday teacher, and Bible School teacher. Angela received her education at Salisbury University and Worwic Community College.
